ABOUT

Two Journeys is intended as an updated and expanded version of the contents of a solo exhibition of Michael Webb, held in 2008 at the Cooper Union School of Architecture in New York City. The book will feature Webb’s early drawing work, some of which was done in conjunction with Archigram, and a twenty-year study on perspective projection that utilizes the Regatta Course at Henley (UK) as a subject. The intention is to connect the work he has done between the years 1958 and the present into a continuously evolving narrative.

Analytical Representation

In conjunction with the production of Two Journeys, a book featturing the work of Michael Webb, Webb and I give a course at Pratt Institute called Analytical Representation (FA 2015 and SP 2016, SP 2017). In this course students learn and practice using drawing as an analytical tool. Following a brief introduction to the work of Robin Evans, students pursue independent projects that analyze and/or depart from a single project executed by Michael Webb. The intention is to generate material that may be used in the book.
